Ingredients
- Apples 100gm
- Celery 50gm
- Walnuts 25gm
- Mayonnaise 50 ml
- Lemon juice 10 ml
- Salt n Pepper
Cut the celery in 1 /2 cm slices and slice up the apples really thinly aswell. Immediately place in a bowl and smother with the mayonnaise. OR place the apple slices in a bowl of cold water mixed with a little bit of lemon juice so that the apples don’t change colour. Once you’re ready to combine the salad, take the apples out of the water and lightly tap dry with a paper towel. Toss into a bowl with the mayonnaise, celery, salt and pepper. Let it stand for 10 minutes and then dress in portions by pressing the salad in a ring onto a plate or if you don’t have a ring just use any regular can cut open from both sides. Careful not to cut yourself though. Finish off with sprinkling lightly crushed walnuts on top. You can also garnish with watercress if you want
I’m going to have to try this when I get back… I’m really intrigued about the celery + apple combination, it looks very appetizing!
